Legal Databases:  Tips & Tricks

Thursday, February 19th

Barristers’ Lounge, 2nd Floor Law Courts (South)

Kate Welsh, Courts Privacy Counsel, will speak about the decision to move the publication of judgments from the Alberta Courts website to CanLII.

This will be followed by a group discussion about legal databases generally, allowing us to share our favourite tips and tricks and ask questions.

The success of the session depends on the participation of members. 

• In advance of the session, try to think of a favourite trick or tip to share. 
• Or bring a burning question you have about a legal database  – a fellow ELLA member may be able to help, or you may find that others have the same question
• Tips and questions could be related to:

CanLII   – Quicklaw – WestlawCanada Next –  Justice Laws  -HeinOnline – any other database/electronic resource

 

Brown bag – bring your own lunch.  Beverages will be provided.

There will be a computer and projector.

There is no charge to attend this event.
